Do you run a dance school, young people’s club, community group, gymnastics group, martial arts classes, drama classes, or play an instrument, just to name a few?
Do you work with a group of people who are just dying to show off their skills and talents to an audience of thousands?
On Saturday 16 June, Fuse Medway Festival is giving local groups the chance to take part in a Community Pre-Show to warm up the crowds before Barricade – a spectacular open-air circus extravaganza performed by No Fit State Circus. Check out a video of this amazing show at www.nofitstate.org – we promise you, once you’ve seen this, you’ll definitely want to be involved!
Your participation is likely to involve your group attending some rehearsals at the performance site (as yet unconfirmed) on either Friday 15 June (evening) or Saturday 16 June (afternoon), and then performing to the crowds in the evening before the main show begins. Other than this, all we’re asking your group to do is what they do best – show off their talents in whatever skill your group specialises in. But there’s one challenge… in order to reflect the themes of Barricade, you need to somehow incorporate the use of tyres – car tyres, bicycle tyres, even little pram tyres! You can balance on them, jump through them, even wear them as a costume – let your imaginations fly!
Group leaders/teachers/instructors are invited to come along and find out more, meet Orit from No Fit State Circus, discuss ideas for the ways in which your group could perform in the Community Pre-Show and even get to experiment and try out ideas using car tyres.
