Supporting UK craft and design from their Clerkenwell base for over 30 years, Craft Central celebrates the launch of their new galleries this February. Their interesting Victorian buildings have long housed studios, exhibition spaces and business advice for designer makers, but 2013 sees an exciting expansion of the gallery facilities in St John’s Square, enabling them to grow their programme of public exhibitions and events.
The inaugural exhibition is set to show off the brand new galleries to great effect! Coinciding with London Fashion Week, Head to Toe will showcase the best in contemporary millinery and shoe design.
Head to Toe will explore the craft process and skill behind the drama, impact and, often, fun of hats and shoes. With covetable work from an exciting and diverse group of 20 designers, you will find astounding sculptural forms and innovative use of materials from big names in the worlds of millinery and shoe design. Milliners include Stephen Jones, Noel Stewart, House of Flora and Emma Yeo and we present shoes from Marloes ten Bhömer, Hetty Rose and London College of Fashion Cordwainers… to name but a few!
