MAKING ART WORK are delighted to host a talk by Gayle Chong Kwan, on Thursday 4th July at No. 23 Union Street, Maidstone. This is the sixth in our programme of artist talks and we’re doubly pleased to be able to hold it back at No. 23 Union Street where we did our pop up project.
Gayle will be talking about her practice and her current research project, followed by a Q&A and a chance to chat over a glass of wine and nibbles.
“Gayle Chong Kwan (b. 1973 in Scotland) is a London-based artist whose large-scale photographic works, installations, sound works and videos have been exhibited internationally. Chong Kwan works primarily with photography and installation to create fantastical mise-en-scene landscapes and environments out of disturbing arrangements of waste materials, sensory remains and documentary sources.” (Taken from the artists’ website http://www.gaylechongkwan.com)
