Please support the Medway Messenger’s charity of the year.

For one night only, The Medway Little Theatre in Rochester will be donating all the proceeds from its production of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire to The Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust.

The money raised will help pay for life-saving equipment, including ventilators, incubators and cot-side monitoring systems. The trust also provides travel expenses to help parents visit their babies every day.

Described as one of America’s greatest plays, A Streetcar Named Desire offers an insight into the troubled world of Blanche DuBois who visits her pregnant sister Stella in New Orleans, only to stir up endless trouble between Stella and husband Stanley.

But when Blanche meets Stanley’s good friend Mitch, she has the opportunity to put her chequered past, which includes exile from Louisiana after seducing a 17-year-old boy while teaching English, behind her.

The charity night is on Tuesday October 1, curtain up at 7.30pm. Tickets £10.

The Medway Little Theatre is in Rochester High Street (opposite the railway station). There will be a raffle and bar on the night.

Tickets are £10.

Call Jenni Horn on 01634 227803 or email jhorn@thekmgroup.co.uk for tickets.
