LIMBO In Margate Open To Submissions For Annual Members Exhibition 2015

LIMBO is proud to announce the call for entries for its first annual members’ open exhibition, selected by artist Adam Chodzko.

Associate Members are invited to submit up to three works for consideration. The exhibition will take place in March and April 2015.

Limbo’s exhibitions team will select one artist from the show for a solo exhibition at Limbo in 2016.

Information for members wishing to apply:

Dates
The deadline for entries is 16 February 2015
Selected artists will be contacted by 28 February
Delivery of selected works: 7 and 14 March, 12-5pm
Collection of unsold works: 25 April, 12-5pm
Exhibition dates: 27 March – 19 April

Fees and eligibility
There is no additional fee for members to submit work.
Collaborative groups are welcome to apply, provided at least one of the group is an Associate Member.
Limbo’s rate of commission on works sold is 20%.

Delivery and collection of work
Artists selected for the exhibition are expected to arrange and fund delivery and collection of their work.

Installation
Artists selected for the exhibition will be asked to provide detailed instructions for the installation of their work and, in some circumstances, the tools or fixings required to do this.
We will endeavour to support the exhibition of works across a range of media, but have limited resources. Artists should be able to provide all equipment and materials necessary for the display of their work for the duration of the exhibition.

Size of works
All works submitted must be able to pass through Limbo’s project space doors, which are w114 x h197 cm.

Adam Chodzko is an artist – exhibiting work nationally and internationally since 1991 – whose multidisciplinary practice explores the interactions and possibilities of human behaviour.

His artworks including video, installation, photography, socially engaged practices, drawing and performance. Bringing together fragments from diverse fields of knowledge to make work that sits between documentary and fiction, his artworks are propositions driven by the question; if this is our current reality what really should happen to us next?

Chodzko’s exhibitions range from a solo survey show at Tate St Ives to a major installation at Tate Britain. He has had work in the Venice and Istanbul Biennials and has received awards from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, New York. He was awarded an AHRC Creative Research Fellowship in the Film Department at the University of Kent, where he is currently a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art. He lives in Whitstable, Kent.
