“The world is better if we play together”
Organiser Kate Kneale says “GEEK is all about bringing people together and celebrating creative passion and skill. Each event will be different as it will draw on local groups and reflect their passions and expertise. Some will be Retro focused while others will be more about Indie games or craft workshops. But they will all have a mix of activities where people can Meet, Make and Play.”
MEET – Friends and family, artists, makers and inventors.
MAKE – With paint, pixels, code and imagination.
PLAY – Discover new games and rediscover old favourites.
GEEK Swale & Medway is brought to you by GEEK and Ideas Test
“Ideas Test exists to create new opportunities for local people and organisations and we’re excited to be working with Swale & Medway creatives and GEEK to bring this event to our locality. We hope this will be the first of many!” – Steph Fuller, Creative Enabler.
GEEK is organised by Marine Studios, a Community Interest Company based in Margate. Marine Studios works to strengthen communities by extending cultural and creative participation, supporting the creative sector and creating opportunities for skill sharing and knowledge transfer.
GEEK will be back in Margate in February, but in the meantime details of the Medway GEEK events can be found on www.GEEK-play.com
