Interview With Damion Hampton – Artist

Kent artist Damion Hampton uniquely fuzes together two entities – Art and Physics. We are admirers of Damions work here at Creatabot and we thought you would like to know some more about him…

How long have you been an artist for now? 

I’ve been artistic since childhood but now I’ve graduated from school and University I am currently studying an MA Fine Art. I have studied Fine Art ever since my A levels and plan to enrol onto PhD in 2013. I also have an NCFE Level 3 in “Creative Craft” and a background in graphic design.

Who is your favourite local artist and all time favourite artist?

I really appreciate the work of Dr. Terry PerkJohnny CotterTony Hayward and Turner. As far as all time artists I am inspired by H. R. Giger, Jean Michel Basquate, Edward Tufte and Rodin.

Who really inspires you?

Jean Michel Basquate really inspires me as well as US physicist Professor Benjemin Schumacher.

What would you really like to learn in the future?

I am looking forward to studying PhD in Fine Art and I plan to take BA Hons in Astro-physics in the future too.

Can you recommend a creative website you love?
